Children’s awards rescheduled

The awards ceremony for the National Children’s Festival of the Arts 2012 has been rescheduled for Friday, 15 June.

The awards will be presented between 10 and 11am at the Church of God (Holiness), Red Bay, located on Selkirk Drive. The ceremony was originally scheduled for Monday, 11 June.

Best Overall Standard English Performance- Solo and Choir

Speech Choir – Liar Liar; Infant Speech Choir, Cayman Academy – Gold*

Speech Solo (Junior High) – O’Laro Waite, Layman Scott High School, Cayman Brac; The Strife of Life – Original Poem – Gold*

Best Performance with a Caymanian Theme – All Categories:

Olivia Zimmer, First Baptist Christian School: Just Because – Gold*

Top three Literary Winners

Pierson, Sarah (Cayman International School) – To Grin and Bear It (32 points). Short Story/Memoir.

Silva, Sabrina (Cayman International School) – Solar Energy: Good for Japan, but What about Cayman? (31 points). Non-Fiction/Editorial.

Burnstein, Samuel (Cayman Prep and High School) – Two-Face Cayman (31 points). Poem.
