Esteemed Caymanian actor, poet and singer Quincy Brown is again offering a series of drama workshops for interested students and adults.
The first workshops were held on 15 and 16 June and the second set of workshops take place today, Friday, 22 June and Saturday 23 June, between noon and 2pm in the Sir Vassel Johnson Hall at UCCI.
In his role as Artiste in Residence at UCCI, Quincy is offering the workshops free of charge to anyone who is interested in developing their acting skills.
“All UCCI students are invited to participate. We are also extending invitations to students at ICCI and drama students from various high schools across Grand Cayman. Teachers/Adults and serious students are all welcome. Any member of the public interested in participating will not be turned away,” he says.
Participants will learn various dramatic exercises, role playing, stage projection, voice projection, breathing exercises, trust techniques, facial expressions, body language and characterisation.
“We shall also practice play reading and those students who are interested could actually perform on 24 June at the Harquail Theatre during the Talent X-position of the Arts,” he adds.
Inspired by the potential he has seen in performing arts students, Quincy is keen to help any interested persons to develop and improve their skills on stage.
