This is a call for artists and aspiring artists – if you’re in need for a creative space to express yourself, hurry on down to Pedro St. James because it’s your last chance to use the open studio this Saturday.
Local artist Janice Brown says the atmosphere at the open studio is, “very relaxing and the views and grounds of Pedro St. James are a great inspiration for budding artists.”
Janice says the Visual Arts Society has a permanent studio at Watler House and she has been opening it for guests and members since 2007. The visual arts studio is available for art space, tables and large easels.
“Anyone can come and bring their own supplies pencils, charcoal, paints, etc. It is $5 if not a member. Some people even come and work on their clay sculptures,” Janice says.
It is important to note that this is not a teaching session, rather a neutral space where artists can feel free to express themselves. The last open studio session runs from 9.30am to noon on Saturday, 23 June.
Janice will be teaching a beginners acrylic workshop in the months of September and October.
