The Discovery Day Scavenger Hunt that was rained out on Monday, 21 May, will now take place on Saturday, 23 June.
Organised by dms Broadcasting in collaboration with the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, the hunt will test participants’ knowledge of the history, culture, nature and religion of the Cayman Islands.
Teams of four will make their way across the island by car solving clues and collecting souvenirs. It’s a game of cunning, rather than speed and prizes go to those who collect most points, rather than those who finish first. A worthwhile first prize of $5,000 is up for grabs and second and third place teams will win trips to the Sister Islands of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.
Teams are due to check in at Dolphin Discovery at 9am, where they will receive their challenge packs and instructions before the hunt kicks off at 10am. All teams are due back at Dolphin Discovery by 4pm so that points can be calculated before prizes are awarded. All four dms Broadcasting stations will be onsite and the resident dolphins will perform a special show.
One hundred per cent of registration fees will be donated to the Mind’s Eye Restoration Project, the former residence of visionary artist Miss Lassie. This project was chosen as a fitting charity due to the cultural significance of the site.
