Man arrested in attempted murder case

Royal Cayman Islands Police arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with an assault at a Windsor Park party earlier in the month.

The man who was assaulted last week is now in critical condition.

According to police, about 3.30am on Thursday, 21 June, police received a report that a 34-year-old man had been admitted to the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town suffering from a serious stab wound to his neck.

Enquiries revealed that the victim had sustained the injury while attending a gathering in Hawkins Drive, Windsor Park. The incident is believed to have a occurred around 3.15am. It is suggested that approximately 50 people were at the gathering, police said.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a police operation in the Windsor Park area Monday evening.

Police ask anyone who was at the gathering in Windsor Park in the early hours of Thursday morning, 21 June, to contact them. The officer in charge of the enquiry, Detective Inspector Joseph Wright, is disappointed that despite the number of people who were at the gathering no-one has yet come forward in response to that appeal. However, officers have been conducting extensive door – to – door enquiries in the area and would ask anyone who has not yet been spoken to by the police to contact them on the following numbers – George Town CID 949-4222, the RCIPS tip-line 949-7777 or Crime Stoppers on 800-8477(TIPS).

  1. Why did it had to come to this? #1 these guys hang out at this appartment selling drugs, beers and playing music all day and all night, when complain to the police they come and bounce the hand of these guys and drive away, while the person that call the police stands their and sees this.
#2 The owner is dead scared of these boys, so they comes and string up music and the renters has to put up with this.
#3 the POLICE is to be blame for this because if they were doing their jobs this would not have chance of happening.
ASK the police how many call they got from the renters about these guys hanging out selling drugs at this appertment complex and at the park and nothing was done about it, NOW that some one is serious hurt they are asking the public for help, this could have been provented.
    ONLY IN THE CAYMAN ISLANDS.
