The man who was assaulted last week is now in critical condition.
According to police, about 3.30am on Thursday, 21 June, police received a report that a 34-year-old man had been admitted to the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town suffering from a serious stab wound to his neck.
Enquiries revealed that the victim had sustained the injury while attending a gathering in Hawkins Drive, Windsor Park. The incident is believed to have a occurred around 3.15am. It is suggested that approximately 50 people were at the gathering, police said.
A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a police operation in the Windsor Park area Monday evening.
Police ask anyone who was at the gathering in Windsor Park in the early hours of Thursday morning, 21 June, to contact them. The officer in charge of the enquiry, Detective Inspector Joseph Wright, is disappointed that despite the number of people who were at the gathering no-one has yet come forward in response to that appeal.
