The Olympics may be under way but women in Cayman will resume their pigskin assault.
Week nine of the 16-week Dart Women’s League, put on by the Grand Cayman Flag Football Association, takes place this weekend at the Camana Bay Sports Field.
On Friday, 27 July, the Androgroup Killa-Panthers look to get back on track against the Zulu Warriors at 8pm. At 10am on Saturday, 28 July, the Lone Star Jager Monsters battle the Maples Bliss while at 11am the HOT 104.1FM Cheetahs face the Subway Stingers and the Burger King Wolverines challenge the Hammerheads Lady Sharks.
Androgroup got off to a brilliant start, behind the likes of Heather Roffey, but have fizzled of late while Zulu are looking to secure a playoff spot. Lone Star seek more momentum against an underachieving Maples side, Subway looks for an upset of the Cheetahs and the Wolverines face the Lady Sharks in a rematch of the 2011 finals, which Hammerheads won.
