The Chamber Pension Plan board of trustees recently welcomed Lynn Roffey as their newly elected chairwoman.
Mrs. Roffey, an accounting and finance professional who has 19 years of experience in her field of expertise, is the financial controller for Androgroup Ltd. and its affiliated companies.
As such, she has an in depth understanding of local business issues, combined with significant international business experience, the Chamber Pension Plan said in a news release.
Mrs. Roffey said that as the financial controller of a local company with many employees who are plan members, she has always taken a keen interest in the Chamber Pension Plan. This interest resulted in her being on the Chamber Pension Plan’s board of trustees since 2009.
“At Androgroup Ltd. around 80 employees are members of the Chamber Pension Plan, so it has always been important for me to engage in a strong relationship with the plan. I encourage other employers to do the same,” she said.
“Now being elected chair of the plan’s board of trustees is a great honour. This year we have added some remarkable new trustees to the team and we have a wonderful new general manager. We have some exciting plans for the coming year and I am proud to assist in this growth and development of the plan,” Mrs. Roffey said.
Prior to joining Androgroup in 2005 as its financial controller, Mrs. Roffey was an IT/Business Systems Consultant in the United States for 10 years, with major international clients such as Amoco Corporation, Rolls-Royce North America, Black and Decker Inc. and the United States Navy. She has a master’s degree in Business Administration – Finance, from the University of Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Accounting, from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana.
Chamber Pension Plan’s General Manager Bill Fleury said the Chamber Pension Plan will benefit from Mrs. Roffey’s broad expertise and knowledge.
“The Management and Board of Chamber Pension Plan are truly delighted to be able to welcome Mrs. Roffey as the board of trustees’ new chairperson,” he said. “Mrs. Roffey has worked closely with the plan for a number of years in her position as financial controller at Androgroup Ltd and therefore has extensive experience of the plan from the private sector perspective. Mrs. Roffey’s high calibre of expertise will be put to great use at the plan and we look forward to working alongside her and all the board’s trustees to improve and enhance our service to all our members even more.”
