The Lions Club of Tropical Gardens provided 45 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to primary school students for the new academic year.
This back to school initiative would not have been possible without the assistance of Kirk Office Equipment and Thorp Alberga law firm.
“Kirk Office Equipment donates back to school items every year to a worthy cause organised by the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens,” said Beth Taylor, retail store manager of Kirk Office Equipment. She said that her company believes in education and that this is just one of the ways her organisation responds to community needs.
Lion Winsome Parker, committee chairwoman for Early Childhood and Youth, expressed her thanks to the sponsors and said the club wanted to ensure that students who received the supplies would be ready for the school year. Education, she said, is a vehicle for change and if you provide the tools to educate a child, you provide them with the building blocks for further development.
The principals, parents and students were overjoyed to receive these backpacks for the new academic year.
