KPMG gave the best account

After an exciting regular season Team KPMG won their division and remained undefeated in all five games in the process. They are heading to the playoffs as the No.1 seed, along with Team Tennis Superstars who won their division, going 4 – 1. 

Week 5 had some exciting and extremely close match-ups. Two match ups were decided by only two points.  

Team Bits & Pieces versus Team PWC was tied at 1-1 after two doubles matches were completed and the third and deciding doubles match between Gareth Wilkinson and Michael Sumares (Bits & Pieces) and Ross Budzynski and Matt Tyler (PWC) was decided on a tie-break, which Bits & Pieces won 12-10.  

The other match-up between Team Harmonic and Team HSBC was also decided in the third and final doubles match of the day, which Adam Fox and Ross Jenson of Team Harmonic won 9-7 in the tie-breaker against Gonzalo Jalles and Marius Gaina of Team HSBC.  

The first round of the playoffs will start on Tuesday 13 November at 8:15pm and the finals of the Fall ’12 Tennis League being played on Tuesday 4 December.  

Thomas Neuert, director of tennis, said: “In the regular season we had a total of 121 players participate, compared to 84 players last season.
