Female reception and security staff at the government administration building in George Town were sporting some impressive facial hair Wednesday.
Receptionist Hope Stephenson and security guards Shekara Morrison and Lilieth Mayhew donned giant moustaches to mark both Halloween, which fell on Wednesday, and Movember, which kicked off Thursday.
“Jennifer Weber from the Cayman Islands Cancer Society came in today wearing bunny ears. She had these in her bag in preparation for Movember and said we needed to get into the spirit of the event,” Ms Stephenson said. “So, we’re wearing them for both Halloween and Movember.”
Ms Stephenson is a long-time volunteer of the Cancer Society and its longest serving board director.
Every month, to raise awareness of cancers prevalent among men, November is transformed in “Movember”, culminating with a competition at the end of the month for the best moustaches.
