Twelve of Cayman’s most talented artists and crafts makers are joining forces to hold a special Artisans Market this Saturday, 15 December in Gardenia court at Camana Bay.
If you haven’t got your Christmas shopping done yet, you’ll find all sorts of unique, handmade gifts created by individuals living and working in the Cayman Islands.
Whether you’re looking for stocking fillers or a gift that is guaranteed to be one of a kind, this is the place to pick up some really special gifts.
Jewellery designer Rachel Christ spearheaded the effort and she will be selling her new fall line of Xie Xie Designs jewellery, some of which draw on previous pieces, while others are new designs. Her silver rings, earrings and necklaces are adorned with semi-precious stones including blue topaz, rose quartz, mystic topaz and freshwater pearls.
There will be all sorts of aprons, tote bags and wine bottle covers sewn up in beautiful fabrics by the Church Mice, and handmade soaps and lotions made with goat’s milk, honey and all sorts of therapeutic ingredients from Cayman Beach Bubbles.
MAR candles, made with soy wax, will be available in festive reds and greens, and Kara’s Glass will be showcasing her beautifully painted glassware.
Tea Time in Cayman will also be there with there, with all 31 of their loose leaf teas on sale, from as little as $5, as well as gift baskets and tea ware – and you’ll also be able to sample their Christmas tea blend and tea infused shortbread cookies.
While parents shop, kids can be kept entertained with face paintings from Monica Powery. It’s quick, colourful and long lasting, yet washes off with soap and water.
There’s plenty more in store at the market, so make time to stop by Gardenia Court between 11 am and 3.30pm on Saturday.
