The Kirk Freeport store at The Strand was robbed Monday evening.
Police officers at the scene said that four armed and masked men entered the store at approximately 6:50pm. One brandished a handgun, held up staff and robbed a large amount of jewelry. The robbers escaped and the police responded to the scene where an investigation is underway. A search is on for the suspects.
No shots were fired, no injuries have been reported, nor were there any customers in the store, but staff members were present at the time.
Customers arriving at the store at around 8pm were told that it was closed for the evening.
