Man charged in Kirk Freeport robbery

Update 11:30am Tuesday: Bail has been denied for a man charged in connection with a 7 January robbery at Kirk Freeport in the Strand. Twenty-eight year-old Aaron Bernardo denied any involvement in the heist, for which three other individuals were arrested but have not yet been charged.


A 28 year old man has been charged with robbery and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an offence following the Kirk Freeport robbery which occurred on Monday 7th January 2013. He was also charged with possession and consumption of ganja and possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in custody and it is anticipated he will appear in court Tuesday 15th January 2013.

The three other males arrested in connection with the matter have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers continue to follow positive lines of enquiry and ask for anyone who witnessed the robbery or saw the suspects either before or after the incident to come forward.
