The CFA Society Cayman Islands has honoured the latest recipients of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation at its annual charter award dinner at Hemingways Restaurant on 17 January.
Wendy Pirie, the director of Curriculum Projects at the CFA Institute, presented the new CFA charters to four finance professionals who successfully completed the programme and fulfilled the professional practice requirements.
Earlier in the day, she had led a session providing an overview of the CFA programme and highlighted the value and benefits of becoming a CFA charterholder. The CFA charter is a qualification for finance and investment professionals, particularly active in investment management and the financial analysis of stocks, bonds and derivatives.
Ms Pirie said it had always been the mission of the CFA Institute to lead the investment profession globally by promoting the highest standards of ethics, education and professional excellence “for the ultimate benefit of society”. Given the recent criticism of the investment sector, she said, the new CFA charter holders should regard themselves as ambassadors for the investment profession.
