Markie Ebanks and Hank Parchment grabbed two goals apiece for Elite Sports Club as they set themselves up nicely to got through to the Digicel Cup finals.
The duo hit their goals in Elite’s 4-0 cruise over Cayman Athletic at the TE McField Annex on Sunday in the first leg of the Digicel Cup semis.
Parchment opened the game’s scoring with a brilliant header before Ebanks fired in from close range in the 26th minute and added a penalty in the 39th. Parchment got his second in the 55th minute.
Elite technical director Greg Ebanks said: “We controlled the game well and enjoyed a lot of possession and I’m thankful that we utilised our scoring opportunities and took our chances.
“I now have a cushion in the second leg and will take the necessary precautions. Cayman Athletic don’t have anything to lose and will try to exploit every opportunity.”
In the earlier game George Town drew with Scholars International 0-0.
The second leg semis of this competition are on Sunday week, 3 February, Super Bowl night. The Digicel Cup finals are on at the TE McField Annex on Ash Wednesday 13 February.
The next Premier League games are on Wednesday 23 January between Scholars International and Cayman Athletic at the Ed Bush stadium and between Tigers and North Side at the TE McField Annex.
The following night Elite face Bodden Town at Ed Bush and Academy play George Town at the TE McField Annex. All matches kick off at 7.30pm.
