Ancient pirate pistols stolen

A pair of antique pistols and a diamond ring were stolen from a Seven Mile Beach condominium on Monday, according to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.

About 9.40am Monday, police received a report that a burglary had taken place at the Great House Condos on West Bay Road.

During the burglary a pair of antique pistols – similar to those used by pirates in the 16th century – and a diamond, gold and black coral ring were stolen.

A silver coloured iPod touch, a black Cannon digital camera and a white Samsung Galaxy phone were also stolen, police said.

Officers believe the burglary took place sometime between 12.30am and 9.40am Monday.

Detectives ask anyone who was in the area between those times, and has any information, to come forward. In addition, anyone who has any information about the stolen property, or who has been offered any of the items for sale, is also asked to contact the police.

Information can be passed to West Bay police station at 949-3999, the police service tip-line 949-7777 or Cayman Crime Stoppers on 800-8477 (TIPS).
