Family Fun and Dart Park

Enjoy the great outdoors and instil a greater appreciation for nature in both young and old this weekend at Dart Park in South Sound. It’s the National Trust’s first ever Great Outdoors Family Fun Day and it’s all part of the Earth Day celebrations.

There will be plenty of good, old fashioned fun and games at this water’s edge park from 3 to 5pm on Sunday, 28 April.

Children can run around, burn off steam and enjoy the fresh air, while parents can tuck into the food and drinks.

With plenty of family-friendly activities to get involved in, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

There will be carnival games and a bouncy castle for the energetic and face painting for those who can sit still for a little longer.

Iggy, the Blue Iguana – the National Trust’s mascot – will be hanging out looking for photo opportunities.

Because it’s an Earth Day event there is also a conservation element to the day and, the removals and recycling company will be present along with other environmentally-focused vendors. Children can get involved in a variety of recycling activities.

Parents, set a good example and bring along your used aluminium cans, glass bottles and plastic bottles (caps removed) for recycling.

Admission is free to all and it’s bound to be fun day for all ages.
