Sagicor adopts school

Sagicor adopted another primary school in Grand Cayman on 30 April.

This time, Red Bay Primary was the beneficiary of US$15,000 to assist with the school’s sports programmes as a part of the company’s adopt-a-school programme.

The school follows George Town Primary School, which was the first primary school to benefit from the programme.

Merrick Plummer, assistant vice president for Sagicor noted, “Two years ago we launched our adopt-a-school programme with George Town Primary. We are pleased to be making another significant contribution to an institution, which upholds the standard needed to instil the solid education and lifestyle practices needed to hone our young people into productive and principled adults.”

The programme will take seven years to affect all primary schools in the Cayman Islands, as each will receive attention for one year.

“The Cayman Islands is one of Sagicor’s biggest subsidiaries and as part of the company’s corporate and social responsibility, we have endeavoured to support each of the seven primary schools in Cayman for one year; starting with George Town Primary,” said Branch Manager Norman Wilson.
