Arnold ready to get you chuckling

The latest instalment in the Laughter Lounge series brings two hot comedians to Cayman shores.

David Arnold and Cole Parker will be at the lounge in the Strand from 8pm on both Friday, 31 May and Saturday, 1 June.

More and more people became aware of Arnold’s stand up presence when he was selected to perform on the premiere of Russell Simmons’ presents The Ruckus on Comedy Central. Dates with Shaq’s All Star Comedy Tour has raised David’s profile as well.

David possesses a fresh, edgy humour that keeps you laughing and thinking at the same time. His unique opinions on life, love and family are enough to bring a breath of fresh air to any stage.

He has written for TV shows like The Rickey Smiley Show for TV One, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne and Meet the Browns and landed a recurring role on Meet the Browns as Darnell the irresponsible teacher. David also hosted the first season of TV One’s Black Men Revealed where he uses his sense of humour to bring real issues to the table between black men and women. David added Director to his list of accomplishments by releasing a series of his short films: Because My Stand Up is not Enough!, Til’ Death Do Us Part?, and The Garage Sale, all which won awards at film festivals, including the Hollywood Black film Festival, the Pan African Film Festival, Boston Film festival and Santa Barbara Film Festival.

David has performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival, on Comedy Central’s Laffapalooza with Jamie Foxx and Cedric the Entertainer, The Tom Joyner Show, Baisden After Dark, Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen, BET’s Comicview, The Monique Late Night Talk show, HBO’s Entourage and Def Comedy Jam.

Based out of Los Angeles, he can be seen working out his stand up at clubs like the Laugh Factory, the Comedy Union, the Comedy Store, the Improv and the Ice House.

Cole Parker

Comedian, actor, writer and presenter, Cole Parker exploded onto the comedy circuit in 2000, to great critical acclaim. In the same year he was in the Hackney Empire New Act competition final alongside Russell Brand. Cole now regularly plays the premier comedy clubs throughout the UK and overseas and has earned an enviable reputation as a professional, highly original, first-rate comic and compere. His intelligent – occasionally dark material, is delivered with generous spoonfuls of charm and he can relate to any audience.

On television Cole recently presented 15 episodes of The Ultimate Gambler for Bravo Television, which sold to 24 countries worldwide. On Sky Sports he was recently the face of International Cricket and he appears regularly on television

On radio Cole has co-presented a music show with Craig Charles for BBC Radio 6 and appeared as a guest on XFM, BBC London, LBC and several BBC broadcasts. He also performed stand-up on BBC 7’s ‘Spanking New’.

A knowledgeable and passionate music fan, Cole has hosted ‘Jersey LIVE!’ for four years since its inception in 2003 – performing alongside the cream of the British and international A-list music industry.

Having a massive bank of material and being able to relate to a wide demographic has made Cole a popular and regular festival fixture. He has compered the Reading festival for an unprecedented fours years running and also played the Glastonbury, Leeds, Latitude, Edinburgh fringe, Bug-jam and Big Chill festivals.

A prolific writer, Cole has four television shows currently in development. He has also written for several top name comedians and played alongside Russell Brand, Harry Hill, Jonny Vegas, Ardal O’Hanlon, Ed Byrne, Sean Lock, The Mighty Boosh, Jimmy Carr, Jeff Green, Craig Charles, Michael McIntyre, Al Murray, Ross Noble and more. More recently he has written topical comedy for BBC Radio 2.

Ticket prices are $15 Bar Seats, $30 – General Admission, $70 – Table for two, $90 – Table for three.

There’s also the small matter of the Black Friday afterparty, hosted by Natalie Nunn of Bad Girls Allstars. That’s $10 for the ladies, $15 for men and a limited amount of VIP tickets for $30.

Doors open at 8pm, with the smooth sounds of Rupert ‘Frankie Sinatra’ Ackerman to greet you. The shows start at 9pm sharp; don’t be late!
