An iconic resort and dive operation is celebrating 20 years in operation.
Little Cayman Beach Resort was the vision of the late Dan Tibbetts, who wanted to bring a modern dive resort to Little Cayman and to carry on a family tradition started by his father, Linton Tibbetts.
Mr. Tibbetts used his extensive knowledge of construction to oversee every detail and the resort opened for business in June 1993. Reef Divers was also opened at that time.
Over the years, the resort has hosted the documentary team recording “A Decade of Bloody Bay Wall”, participated in the Grouper Moon project alongside Guy Harvey and was named Best Caribbean Small Hotel in 2011 by readers of the magazine, Caribbean Travel and Life.
Resort Manager Kimberely Dangerfield has recently implemented a Weekly Beach Clean-Up Walk to educate guests about the history of Little Cayman while keeping the island beautiful at the same time.
“We are proud of our 20 years of service to the island and to our guests that make it all possible,” she said.
During the past 20 years, the resort has weathered its share of hurricanes and tropical storms and underwent a significant renovation in 2009.
