A group of 120 realtors from the Texas Association of Realtors visited the Cayman Islands recently on their annual Caribbean cruise.
During the tour, the realtors were met by members of the Cayman Islands Real Estate Brokers Association and visited a variety of properties in Grand Cayman – from luxury Seven Mile Beach condos to George Town and South Sound homes.
Representatives from the Texas Association of Realtors were excited about the idea of forming a strategic alliance and relationship with CIREBA, linking investors from the US to the Cayman Islands real estate market, and vice versa.
“Our goal is to help create business opportunities for the Cayman real estate market,” Bill Gottfried, chairman of the International Committee of the Texas Association of Realtors, told CIREBA representatives.
John R. Gormley, vice president of communications for the Texas Association of Realtors, added, “Our international programme is all about helping Texas investors learn more about international investment opportunities. It is ultimately about helping each other down the line.”
Kay Kerr, from Pharr Realty in Rio Grande Valley, Texas, said her impressions of Grand Cayman were overwhelmingly positive. “Fabulous … there is nowhere like the Cayman Islands.”
The Texas Association of Realtors is the first real estate association from the US to express an interest in forming an overseas alliance with CIREBA. Jeanette Totten, president of the CIREBA board of directors, said, “We are looking forward to working with realtors from the Texas Association of Realtors in creating investment opportunities and growing our market here in the Cayman Islands.”
