Arrest made in Sunday shooting

A 21-year-old West Bay man was arrested overnight on suspicion of attempted murder by Royal Cayman Islands Police.

The arrest was in relation to the two shots fired incidents that occurred in the West Bay district on Sunday, 30 June. In one of those, a cyclist received a gunshot wound to his right arm while riding in the Boatswain Bay area of West Bay. No one was hurt in the other shots fired incident.

Police received a 911 report of shots fired shortly after 9pm on Sunday near Poinciana Lane off Watercourse Road in the vicinity of the Super C restaurant.

Police said one male was shot in the arm. He was transported to hospital
