Mango Tree supports Cayman HospiceCare

The Mango Tree, in association with Cayman Airways Limited, presented Cayman HospiceCare with a cheque for funds raised through their music events.

The Mango Tree hosts occasional live music concerts, for which they bring artists to the island, usually from Jamaica. A part of the proceeds from these events is earmarked for charitable causes.

Cousins Ray and Fred Whittaker, joint owners of the Mango Tree, support numerous causes and non-profit organisations, but have named Cayman HospiceCare as their major charity.

This is the second time they have presented Cayman HospiceCare with a cheque.

“We sat down with Cayman Airways and explained that we wanted to support Cayman HospiceCare and that we would like to work with them to attract artists to our events,” explained Ray Whittaker. “So Cayman Airways donated airline tickets to us, so that we could bring artists over to the Mango Tree.”

“Cayman Airways is glad to be part of this, and we chip in whenever we can,” said Gary Bromfield, Marketing Programmes Coordinator for Cayman Airways. “I am sure all of us at some point will have someone who goes through Hospice and it’s a very worthwhile cause.”
