The triathlon season officially begins this week with the popular 2013 A Step Ahead Physiotherapy Stroke and Stride series on Wednesday,
The series runs for three weeks and is seen as a nice, easy route back to fitness for many after the summer break leading up to the Cayman Triathlon and the Cayman Islands Marathon at year’s end.
The Stroke and Stride charity fundraising races are held every August, with the start and finish at Sunset House in South Sound.
The event attracts a wide range of abilities, from those who compete regularly, to anyone who just wants to get out and have some fun and exercise.
Registration can only be done online and there is no registration on race days. This year, a portion of the event proceeds will go to benefit Cayman HospiceCare.
Race one on Wednesday, 7 August is a 400 metre swim and two-mile run. The second race on 14 August and is a 600m swim, followed by a two-mile run and the third race is an 800m swim followed by the two-mile run. They all start at 5.45pm.
