The inaugural race had 190 entries
It was won by JP Hanekom in 19 minutes 26 seconds with Mike McDonald second in 19:55 and Jon Herrick four seconds behind him.
Hanekom must have been elated because he does not usually win races, although he usually finishes in the top 10.
Matthew Fong (20:03) was fourth, Alex Ebanks (20:09) was fifth and sixth was Marion Crowe in 20:13, the first female home.
Laura Knox-Clingman was three seconds behind Crowe and the second-fastest female. Justine Plenkiewicz was third-fastest woman in 21:17 and 12th overall.
It was an excellent turnout for an inaugural race with 190 entries and really marked the start of the autumn season culminating in the Cayman Islands Triathlon on Nov. 3 and Intertrust Cayman Islands Marathon on Dec. 1.
All proceeds went to the Cayman Islands Red Cross.
