Take a glimpse into Cayman’s past at the National Gallery

A temporary, monthlong exhibition, Images of Yesteryear, opens at the National Gallery on Friday, Sept. 6.

The exhibition features some of most memorable photographs found in the Cayman Islands National Archives. Brought together by Walkers, the collection chronicles the social history of the Cayman Islands from 1900 to the 1960s – a time when life moved at a different pace.

Featured photographers include Aarona Kohlman, Ira Thompson, Helen Hirst Gamble, Ivor O. Smith, Marcia Bodden–Bush, Jack Cohen and Robert Maase.

The exhibition will be on display until Oct. 3.

Intern Kieshona Brown helps curator Natalie Urquhart with the Images of Yesteryear collection.
