Government officials will hold immigration reform town hall meetings in Bodden Town, North Side and East End this week.
The Bodden Town meeting will take place on Monday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m., the East End one on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m., and the North Side meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m*. The meetings will be held in each district’s civic center.
According to an announcement issued by government over the weekend, “Government is holding these meetings to help constituents and residents understand the proposals being made in Immigration Reforms. Also to be discussed are employment initiatives under way to get jobs for Caymanians.”
An immigration amendment bill was submitted to the Legislative Assembly on Friday, Sept. 20, as the first phase of the reform of Cayman’s immigration policy.
Public meetings have already been held in West Bay and George Town.
