Clifton Hunter High School students recently helped deliver needed supplies to older people on island as part of a community service program.
During celebrations of older persons in October, Clifton Hunter Alpha Leos Club delivered gift baskets to seniors island-wide.
Principal Pauline Beckford said The Leo club works extremely hard to support community projects in the eastern district,
“Community service is an integral part of personal development, and I am delighted that the members have welcomed the challenge to provide toiletry gifts for the elderly citizens in the eastern district, as well as the other districts,” she said.
Club president Leo Shaquille Henry is thankful for the generosity of the student body and pleased that members were keen on supporting the project.
“I am happy to be spearheading this project because it is giving us a chance to learn to give back to our society,” he said.
Five gift boxes were packed and delivered to recipients at East End Sunrise Cottage, The Pines retirement home, the West Bay Golden Age Home and the Department of Children and Family Services.
