Brandon Reno Liberal, 27, who appeared in Summary Court on Monday on charges arising from the robbery outside the BritCay building on Oct. 4, 2012, was denied bail and his case was sent to Grand Court.
Liberal, along with others, is accused of robbing a money courier at the Eastern Avenue premises and stealing CI$8,117 and US$593.
He is also charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm, a Bryco .38 pistol.
Because the charges are both Category A, meaning they can be dealt with only in the Grand Court, Magistrate Valdis Foldats transmitted them immediately to the higher court.
Attorney John Furniss applied for bail, but crown counsel Tricia Hutchinson listed her objections.
The magistrate remanded Liberal in custody until Dec. 13, when the matter will be mentioned in Grand Court.
Three other people have also been charged in connection with the robbery.
