Man injured when SUV, motorcycle collide

A 27-year-old man was seriously injured Wednesday night when the motorcycle he was driving collided head-on with a Toyota Highlander SUV. The crash happened on Shamrock Road near Red Bay Primary School around 8 p.m., police said. 

He was airlifted to a Miami hospital for treatment Thursday.  

Investigating officers with the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions and collided when they reached the vicinity of the school. 

The motorcycle operator appeared to have sustained leg injuries, police said. He was transported by ambulance to the Cayman Islands Hospital.
