KPMG account for Hammers while Crabbies snip at Master Batters

KPMG A and Rackam’s Crabbies can officially start their title defenses.

The Cayman Islands Little League Association is starting its 2014 Winter Adult Coed Softball League this week with nine games. The Field of Dreams facility in George Town will host games, which adhere to American Softball Association slow pitch rules, starting on Monday, Feb. 3, at 8:15 p.m. On field three, Crabbies take on Lone Star Master Batters while KPMG face A.L. Thompson’s Hammers on field four.

Monday’s games feature a pair of group winners. KPMG repeated as A division winners with Paul Njoka and company defeating Tony Coe and the Tower Marketing Titans in the final. Daniel Kirkconnell and the Rackam’s Crabbies defied the odds to nab the B division crown by beating Andy Armstrong and the Al La Kebab Hitmen in a close final.

Tuesday, Feb. 4, sees another doubleheader at 8:15 p.m. UBS Swingers challenge NCB Crushers on field three with the BritCay Premiums battling Deloitte on field four. On Wednesday, Feb. 5, Digicel Dynamos tackle Dart on field three at 8:15 p.m. while Coors Light Chuggers tangle with CNB on field four. On Thursday, Feb. 6, Bud Light faces Uniregistry at 6:30 p.m. on field four before Walkers Warriors pitch to YMCA We’ve Got the Runs on field three at 8:15 p.m. while Maples Sluggers batter up against Home Gas Regulators on field four.

There were three group winners last season. Aside from KPMG and Rackam’s, Dart would claim the C division crown.
