There were plenty of notable performances at the recent Mustang West Bay track and field meet at the Town Hall field.
Jeavhon Jaskson won a tight race in the boys 16-17 400 meters, winning in 55 seconds, 0.6 seconds faster than Rashaun Connolly.
Both run for Mustang Track Club, as does Rajay Reid, who won the men’s 400m in 55.9 seconds, two seconds exactly ahead of Paul Laidlaw Jr. Robert Ibeh of the Trinity Track Club was third in 58.5 seconds.
Shayla Torres was another Mustang member who competed, winning the women’s 400m in 1 minute, 19.5 seconds.
Delano Callender of the Hy-Tec Tigers club continued his good form by winning the boys 16-17 boys 800m in 2 minutes 12.1 seconds, three seconds ahead of Rashaun Connolly.
Mustang’s Pearl Morgan won the girls 16-17 200m in 28.2 seconds, Rochel Gardner (29.5 secs) was second and Dru Bodden (31.5 secs) third. Morgan also won the 400m.
Tatayna Martin won the girls 14-15 400m in 1 minute, 09.1 seconds, fractionally ahead of Deanna McLean (1:09:03).
Of the younger competitors, Monique Gordon of the Trinity club impressed. She won the girls 10-11 80m in 11.9 seconds and was second in the 150m in 22.7 seconds, and little Brianna Smith won the girls 6-9 80m in 13 seconds.
Ashantae Graham was the girls 10-11 150m champion in 22.3 seconds. She also won the long jump with a leap of 3.97m.
