Pedestrian struck by car

Police are urging pedestrians to use designated crosswalks after a vehicle struck a woman crossing West Bay Road around 7 p.m. Sunday.

The 55-year-old woman from Chicago was knocked to the ground near the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, but she did not suffer life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Royal Cayman Islands Police Service Chief Inspector Raymond Christian said both the pedestrian and the male driver, 32, tested negative in breathalyzer tests.
