Those living in the Savannah and Newlands area have a new spot to hit the pavement now that the walking track behind Savannah Primary School has opened for public use.
Sports Minister Osbourne Bodden joined others from the Ministry, the Department of Sports and Savannah Primary last week for an opening ceremony.
“The Savannah community is one of the largest and quickest growing communities,” Savannah Primary School Acting Vice Principal Elroy Bryan said. “Allowing the community to come after-hours – especially later hours, where sometimes our work days are extended – so giving parents an opportunity to come out with their family is good for us.”
The track’s operating hours are 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the weekend.
Bodden says lights soon will be added to the track.
