Cayman’s national cricket setup will get a revamp after their disappointing showing at last month’s International Cricket Council World League Division 5 competition in Malaysia.
Cricket Technical Director Theo Cuffy acknowledged that the result proves changes need to be made.
“We’re going to have a special day when we sit down and really have an assessment,” Cuffy said. “Right now we’re collecting all the reports from the various management and our executive is going to review them, and then we’re going to pull everybody together for some good, wide discussions.”
Cayman won just a single game and finished last of six teams and was relegated to Division 6. The relegation comes just a few years after Cayman played in the competition’s Division 4, and the team’s goal is to get back to that level.
Cuffy said that after talking to players and coaches about their experience in Malaysia, they feel they can do “much better once they get the opportunity”.
