Updated: The remaining three Cuban migrants who escaped Wednesday afternoon have been recaptured and returned to detention.
The men were apparently upset that it was taking so long for them to be repatriated to Cuba, according to immigration officials.
Initial story: Another group of Cuban migrants ran from the Immigration Detention Centre in George Town Wednesday afternoon.
According to Deputy Chief Immigration Officer Gary Wong, a total of 13 migrants initially fled the center, which is a low-security facility located in the Fairbanks area of George Town district.
Ten of the 13 were recaptured immediately and police were still searching for the other three as of late Wednesday afternoon.
There have been several recent escapes from the detention facility over the past six months, with a few of the escapees managing to avoid capture.
