Man badly hurt in ‘chopping’

Victim wounded outside West Bay home

A 62-year-old man was severely injured at his home and was undergoing treatment at the Cayman Islands Hospital’s Critical Care Unit following an attack Monday afternoon.

Royal Cayman Islands Police said at about 3:30 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a dispute outside a home on Rainbow Lane in West Bay.

Police said the man “received a number of chop wounds” and had to be taken for emergency surgery at the hospital.

Police arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with the attack.

According to relatives, the wounded man was identified as Ronald Baxter Argenbright. They said he suffered a machete wound to the neck and a broken leg in the fight outside the property where he had lived for the past 13-14 years.
