Championships teed up to coincide with Puerto Rico milestone

The Cayman Islands national junior and senior golf teams and the other nine member countries of the Caribbean Golf Association will attend the Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships in Puerto Rico this summer.

The Caribbean Amateur Championships take place from Jul. 27 to Aug. 9. and it coincides with the Puerto Rico Golf Association celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

Cayman Islands Golf Association President Jason Perras said, “This annual event brings together the top golfing talent in the region and one of the golf association’s remits is to raise the funds to send the islands’ best players to compete.

“We are grateful to local company Logic, who have supported golf association events in the past, who have now signed up as gold sponsors for the national teams.”
