A new night spot featuring servers in red corsets and pantyhose will open this month to introduce the island’s first show bar.
The Rouge Lounge, designed to be “a classy version of ‘Coyote Ugly,’” will open July 11 adjacent to Beaches Sports Bar in Grand Harbor, which operates it.
Beaches Sports Bar manager Keri Lawrence said the idea is to create a lounge environment and steer away from the nightclub feel.
The lounge will operate similarly to a burlesque club, with dance performances on the stage every hour.
“It’s the idea of having them [the dancers] interact with the crowd but in a classy environment.” Ms. Lawrence said.
“We didn’t want to be like anything else, more of a show bar feel but also comfortable.”
Ms. Lawrence said servers auditioned for their jobs and have rehearsed a number of dance routines.
There are plans to make the Rouge Lounge open to all patrons ages 21 years and older.
