Moore joins Mustangs

A young Caymanian basketball player continues to reach new heights.

Tikko Moore, 21, was recruited this summer to play at Master’s College in Santa Clarita, California. The East End native is slated to make his debut for the Mustangs on Nov. 8 in the team’s home opener. The sophomore says his goal is to get an education and advance his aspirations on the court.

“I’m coming to The Master’s College for an excellent Christ-centered education and to play basketball for a great coach,” Moore said. “I want to help the team win a national title and become the best player I can be.”

Moore previously was at Simpson University in Redding, California where he competed for the Red Hawks’ junior varsity team as a college freshman. Before that, Moore played two years in the California high school system at Santa Clarita Christian School. He racked up many accolades with the Cardinals, leading the team in rebounding and blocked shots during the 2011-12 campaign, earning defensive player of the year honors his junior and senior years and the team’s Most Valuable Player award his senior year.

Moore will be the second Caymanian playing at Master’s College, a Golden State Athletic Conference member within the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Phillip Webb joined the Christian liberal arts college back in May.
