White Party will raise Olympic funds

The Cayman Islands Olympic Fundraising Committee is hosting another exciting event to raise money for Cayman athletes, “The White Party, Hamptons Style.” The dress code is just wear white.

It will be held at the newly completed WaterColours on Seven Mile Beach on Friday Oct. 24. “With a view and amenities second to none, it was the location that created this event’s theme,” said Betty Baraud, the committee’s chair, who over the last two decades has raised funds for the athletes in excess of more than $1.5 million from such events.

“With its white sandy beach, palm trees swaying in the breeze, and a sunset like nowhere else, the location is absolutely perfect for this occasion,” Baraud said.

Like all the CIOFC events, Baraud expects another fabulous night, full of fun, great entertainment, butler passed plates, champagne, Sand Angel models and moving art.

There will be the usual wonderful auction items, including a four-night stay in the Hamptons, with return limo service from New York’s JFK Airport, as well as appearances by local performers and possibly Cayman’s version of Rod Stewart.

For those shopping early for a special Christmas gift, Cartier will be conveniently located on site. For every purchase made on the night, a percentage of the sale will be donated to the fundraising committee to help athletes prepare for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Tickets, if purchased before Oct. 15 are $150, which can be bought from any committee member, or just phone 916-1609 or the CIOC Office 946-6984.
