Traders and Canucks set the pace at Kings, Kehoe dazzles

The Ecay Traders and KPMG Canucks are leading the charge on the rink.

Ecay and KPMG have the top teams in the youth roller hockey league at Kings Sports Centre. The Traders top the 13 and Under division at 4-1 while the Canucks lead the 10 and Under group at 5-0. The squads had mixed results in their last games, as Ecay suffered a 7-3 defeat to the 3-1-1 Hudson Hawks while KPMG beat the 2-3 Burger King Whoppers, 7-5.
Kai Allard and Justin Hastings handled the scoring for the Traders while the Hawks florished with goals from Lex Dobson, Ethan Finlason, Jered Holmes and Bryce Towell. Jaedon Cover, Jaxon Cover and Alex Priestley netted goals for the Canucks while Connor Finch, Andy Hastings and Matthew Lloyd-Hickey scored for the Whoppers.

Finlason of the Hawks tops the scoring chart in the 13U section with 15 goals and 11 assists. Molly Kehoe of the Deloitte Devils leads the way in the 10U category with 23 goals, while Jake Booker of the Stars has a league-high eight assists.

Both groups are in action this weekend. On Oct. 17, the 3-2 Deloitte Devils challenge KPMG at 6:30 p.m. before Ecay takes on the 1-1-3 Ernst and Young Eagles at 7:30 p.m. On Oct. 18, the 0-2-3 Islanders and Hawks square off at 9 a.m. before the Whoppers tackle the 0-5 Stars at 2 p.m.

The 8 and Under segment features the 3-2 Blackhawks leading the 2-1-2 PwC Predators and the 2-1-3 Canadiens. Lachlin Lambert of the Canadiens is the top scorer with 33 goals, Gavin Sunley of PwC has 28 goals and Paul Marineau of the Canadiens has group-best five assists. Games continue on Oct. 18 as the Canadiens face the Predators at noon, with PwC battling the Blackhawks at 1 p.m.
