Richard Fazrool Baksh made his first appearance in Summary Court on Tuesday for a charge of bribery.
Details of the charge are that on July 25, along the Esterley Tibbetts Highway, he gave or offered to a public officer $100 with the intent that it should cause the officer to interfere with the administration of justice by not proceeding against a named woman for traffic offenses.
Baksh, 57, was not represented by an attorney. Crown counsel Marilyn Brandt gave him papers setting out the case against him. Magistrate Grace Donalds extended his bail and directed him to return to court on Jan. 13.
