Witnesses sought in fatal Jet Ski crash

Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed a Jet Ski collision off Seven Mile Beach which led to the death of a tourist to come forward.

Robert Cole, 31, was killed and his 37-year-old female passenger, Amy Comer, was injured in the collision at around 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Both were cruise ship passengers visiting from Virginia.

A Jet Ski being operated by a 15-year-old boy, another cruise ship passenger from New York, collided with the watercraft being ridden by Mr. Cole, just off the Westin Resort and Spa.

Officers from the Joint Marine Unit have issued an appeal for witnesses. Anyone who saw the incident is asked to contact Sergeant Antonio Hanna on [email protected] or Constable Garvin Dixon on [email protected] or call the Joint Marine Unit on (345) 516-5140.

  1. The officers investigating this case, this is a fine time to ask for witnesses, I would think that should have been done at the scene of the accident before the thousands of people got back on the cruise ships and left the Island .
