A man arrested in connection with a knife attack Tuesday in downtown George Town has been charged with attempted murder and wounding.
David Andrew Bodden, 38, appeared in Summary Court on Thursday to face charges connected with the broad daylight assault on Blake Barrell, 31, whose throat was cut in a fight with the driver of a car that rammed his vehicle and ran it off Fort Street.
During the court appearance Thursday, Bodden was represented by attorney Amelia Fosuhene, who asked that the matter be adjourned until Friday so that she could make a bail application. Bodden was remanded in custody pending the bail application.
Dozens of witnesses to the lunchtime attack reported one man chasing another around the Admiral Financial Center and saw the two men fighting minutes later outside the neighboring Appleby building on Fort Street.
Royal Cayman Islands Police detectives investigating the incident said a small blue car was almost struck by both vehicles during the incident. The driver of that vehicle is asked to contact the George Town Police Station at 949-4222 or call RCIPS Detective Inspector Collins Oremule at 516-8746.
