Umpires excel at crease

Cayman Islands can boast some of the best cricket umpires in the Caribbean. Courtney Young, Chabienauth Samaroo and Livingston Bailey did an excellent job officiating at regional and international tournaments last year when appointed by the International Cricket Council.

Young has been retained on the 2015 ICC Associates and Affiliates Umpires panel after having another exceptional year in 2014 which was capped with him officiating in the ICC World Cricket League Division 4 final.

Moving up the ranks were Zitroy Robertson, Derrick Williams, Leon Watson, Ezra Hewitt and Fabian Hajarie who completed their final West Indies Umpiring examinations with flying colors. These umpires, along with president Samaroo will be attending the West Indies Cricket Umpires Association 2015 week-long convention in New York from Sunday.

At the convention Robertson, Williams, Watson, Hewitt and Hajarie will receive their certificates.
