Child refs wanted

The Cayman Islands Football Association has launched a program to recruit as many children and youths as possible to become referees and officials.

Anyone ages 10 or older can be a part of it. The program teaches students not only how to become referees through thorough teaching of the laws of the game, but also how to become a better player, becoming a mentor and introducing management skills.

The association is aware that good referees are essential to the success of all football programs in Cayman, and the most important thing that they do, especially at child and youth level, is to ensure that games are fun, safe and fair.

CIFA’s vision is to eventually provide world-class referees.
