A candlelight vigil will be held on Seven Mile Beach on Saturday to celebrate the life of 21-year-old Jessie Perry, who died from severe burns in a Sept. 14 car accident.
Family and friends, some wearing T-shirts and buttons with Ms. Perry’s image, will gather at Public Beach to pay tribute to the young mother, who died in a hospital in Jamaica after being airlifted from Grand Cayman.
Her aunt, Jacqueline Ebanks, said a pastor will make some remarks and family members and close friends will also speak at the service, which starts at 6 p.m. A similar service was held in Ms. Perry’s home country, Jamaica, earlier this week. The funeral will take place in Jamaica next month.
Ms. Ebanks said all are welcome to attend the beach service and pay their respects.
Those who want T-shirts or buttons may call Ms. Ebanks on 322-5673.
