Beach volleyball returns to Public Beach this weekend.
The Cayman Islands Volleyball Federation and Epic Day Entertainment have organized the Big Dig beach volleyball tournament on Seven Mile Beach on Saturday.
The Big Dig is at Public Beach, next to Calico Jack’s. Play begins at 2 p.m. and the party starts at 6 p.m.
Calico Jack’s, which has been the home of beach volleyball enthusiasts for years, have agreed to partner with the volleyball federation once again to raise money for the beach volleyball programs.
The tournament is for anyone, from beginner to professional level. The four-member tournament brings everyone together in a fun-filled day.
There must be at least one female player on the court at all times and teams are limited to one national player (past or present).
The squad can be any size. Entry is $150 per team, and there are prizes on offer, especially for those in costumes. The best-dressed team wins a prize.
If the volleyball action is not hot enough for you, Calico Jack’s is also hosting the after-party with resident DJ Jonesian. A unique raffle will also take place throughout the day, with every ticket winning a prize. Tickets are $15 and everyone is guaranteed a prize worth at least $25.
