Flow forms educational partnership

Cable & Wireless, operator of the Flow and LIME brands, has signed a five-year partnership with One on One Educational Services aimed at offering Caribbean students greater access to a range of study materials for GSAT, CSEC and CAPE examinations. 

One on One Educational Services will provide a variety of educational materials, including video tutorials for full online courses, video lectures, as well as other examination preparation materials, such as notes and question and solutions banks, according to a press release from the company. The education program will also include Virtual Labs, a digital encyclopedia. 

As part of the partnership, Flow customers will receive the basic education package at no additional cost with their broadband service and will be able to upgrade at exclusively discounted prices, the company said. The education content will be available across a Flow Study Website, exclusive Flow Study apps, and on the Flow Video On Demand TV platform. 

John Reid, president of C&W Consumer Group, said, “Through initiatives such as One on One, we have a tremendous opportunity to provide our customers with access to high quality education tools across multiple platforms that would have otherwise been costly and unattainable.” 

He said the company selected One on One after a process to determine which provider had the best overall education solution in the region. 

Ricardo D. Allen, president and CEO of One on One Educational Services, said the company has enabled more than 2,000 students in Jamaica to enhance their performance at the CSEC/CAPE examination. “Our vision has always been to expand our business model through enabling greater access to our products as well as to continue in our effort to create even more online learning content which we will be doing through this deal,” he said. 

The partnership is expected to continue the efforts of past initiatives of One on One to reduce the cost of education and increase the participation rate of children, and adults in learning.
